SUMMARY
Operations Directors provide leadership across all of camp’s programs. Responsibilities include coaching and supervising staff, managing camp operations, and assisting in problem solving as unique and challenging situations arise. Operations Directors provide support to the Assistant Director team and take on higher-level management tasks. Previous experience working with large groups or managing others in a professional setting is required. Operations Directors are supervised by and work closely with Program Directors or Executive Director and perform other duties as assigned. SUMMARY
The Islanders program is a four-week kayaking expedition course for teens entering 10th-12th grade. Trip Leaders for this program will be responsible for leading a group of teens out into the San Juan Islands for adventure, peer to peer leadership and skill development. Trip Leaders will teach advanced boat handling, advanced navigation, and expedition planning, and will be responsible for trip logistics and route planning.
When not leading the Islanders expedition course, Islanders Trip Leaders will support other camp operations, including, but not limited to, leading non-Islanders courses, facilitating training, and supporting in Outtrip.

SUMMARY
Adventure Team Program Counselors facilitate and superviseall of our low and high Challenge Course elements, many group initiatives, and our BMX track for all campers and participants at Camp Orkila on beautiful Orcas Island, WA.When not working in their assigned program area, an Adventure Team Program Counselor provides supervision and enrichment to a specific group of campers.Adventure Team Program Counselors ensurethe supervision and safety of campers at all times. During staff training, Adventure Team members complete an intensive challenge course facilitation training led by Synergo. Adventure Team Program Counselors are supervised by Unit Directors and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY
The deckhand supports our boat captain and helps ferry Camp Orkila participants to offsite overnight island trips. The deckhand will assist with loading and unloading participants, ensuring safe handling and operation of the 44-passenger Kwhanice motor vessel and other vessels, and perform a variety of other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY
Health Aides work closely with the Health Director to support the health and safety of our campers and staff. Health Aides are responsible forassisting in the management of the Health Center, maintaining the health of campers and staff, and properly packing medication for overnight trips. Nursing or pre-nursing students preferred. Health Aides are supervised by the Health Director.

The Camper Support Director oversees a team of staff whoprovide direct support to campers who need extra support while at camp. They support mental, emotional and social health needs of campers, with the aim of helping everyone to feel safe, happy, and comfortable while always ensuring the supervision and safety of campers. They supervise a small team of Camper Support Coordinators. The Camper Support Director is supervised by the Summer Program Directors and performs other duties as assigned. SUMMARY
Camp’s Health Care Director oversees the health and safety of camp’s staff and campers at Camp Orkila on beautiful Orcas Island, WA. The Health Care Director is responsible for the Health Center and works closely with our team of volunteer medical staff. The Health Care Director supervises a small team of Health Aides, oversees the dispensing of camper and staff medications,and monitors the overall health and wellbeing of the entire camp community. Applicants with nursing or health care experience preferred.

Previous experience with video and photo equipment is required. The Media Director is supervised by the Deputy Directors and Summer Program Directors and performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY
Orkila specializes in two types of expedition experiences. The first are our Leadership Development Institute (LDI) courses. We offer two- and three-week LDI courses that combine a kayaking expedition or challenge course focuswithyouth work and leadership experiences, and service projects at Orkila and in the Orcas Island Community. Our pure expedition (kayaking) courses send teens out into the San Juan Islands for one, two, and four weeks of adventure, peer to peer leadership and skill development. Trip leaders will often get the opportunity to lead multiple types of courses in a typical summer spent working at Camp Orkila. When not leading courses, Trip Leaders will support in other areas of camp.

SUMMARY
Arts and Earth (A&E) Program Counselors facilitateand supervise our arts studio, earth sciences programs, and our Marine Salmon Center for all campers and participants at Camp Orkila on beautiful orcas Island, WA. This includes art projects, visiting our saltwater touch tank, “Life in the Forest” (an energetic tag game), archery, beach walks, and tactile activities like Rope Bridge and Geodome. When not working in their assigned program area, an Arts & Earth Program Counselor provides supervision and enrichment to a specific group of campers. Arts & EarthProgram Counselors ensure the supervision and safety of campers at all times. During staff training, Arts & Earth Program Counselors are supervised by Unit Directors and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY
Camp Orkila's Outtrip Coordinatorsare responsible for ensuring that all overnight trips have proper food and equipment. Additionally, Outtrip Coordinatorsmaintain inventories, clean and repair supplies, and support staff and participants in preparing for their trips.
Outtrip Coordinators have a secondary role in supporting Teen Expedition programs by assisting with facilitating programs, providing overnight cabin coverage, and working directly with youth in these programs. Outtrip Coordinators are supervised by an Assistant Director and perform other duties as assigned.
