Job Summary
*This is an on-site and seasonal position. May-August at our Cottage Lake Park Pool facility.
Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day operations of the aquatic programs. Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Lifeguards and teaches classes as assigned. Acts as a liaison and champion for YMCA Whole Person Health.

Job Summary
Cook’s assistant are responsible for preparing and serving food in one of our fast-paced commercial kitchens. Additional responsibilities include maintaining kitchen and lodge cleanliness, washing dishes, and storing food and supplies with food safety in mind. SUMMARY
Resident Camp Dishwashers assists the Food Service Director in all camp food services for camp staff and guests. Our kitchen staff take part in trainings with other members of the program teams and will get training in their department and their specific kitchen position. They’ll work alongside the full-time kitchen team to help with food prep, dishwashing and maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen. This is a crucial role in providing delicious and healthy camp meals in a highly organized manner. All members of the kitchen team will be supervised by the Food Services Director and perform other duties as assigned.

As a program of the Camping & Outdoor Leadership branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, BOLD & GOLD offers year-round partnership programs and summer expedition experiences. Partnership programs engage with schools, non-profits, and community-based organizations to design and implement transformative outdoor experiences. The summer expedition program runs single-gender and all-gender expeditions that engage youth through frontcountry and backcountry trips ranging in length from 5 to 15 days. BOLD & GOLD experiences take place in Mt Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park, Olympic National Park, National Forests, Washington State Parks, and local green spaces. Activities include backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, snowshoeing, fishing, yoga, art, music, and literature. Every day campers participate in fun and engaging YMCA summer day camp programs. Counselors will co-lead a group of 10-15 youth in various activities throughout the camp, including group games, crafts, STEM projects, cooking projects and more. Spend your summer full of fun with kids all summer long!
We have camps that serve campers from preschool-early high school. From theme-based Discovery Camps, to environmental explorations at Outdoor Day Camp to sports, swimming, STEM and more-we have something for every camper but also for every counselor.
When you join our team of summer staff, you're signing on for a summer of adventure with energetic coworkers, and plenty of perks like a free Y membership and paid training for certifications like First Aid and CPR. Day Camp season runs June 24th through the end of August, (start dates vary by location) with training the week of 06/15 - 06/21.
