Job Summary

Cook’s assistant are responsible for preparing and serving food in one of our fast-paced commercial kitchens. Additional responsibilities include maintaining kitchen and lodge cleanliness, washing dishes, and storing food and supplies with food safety in mind. Cook’s assistant will work with Lead Cooks and the Food Service Director and will assist as needed.

 

Hiring Range: $20.00-$22.00/hour

Responsibilities

  1. Assists Food Service Director as needed.
  2. Helps prepare and serve food following food and safety regulations.
  3. Stores food and supplies, assuring proper rotation.
  4. Assists in dishwashing, including pots and pans.
  5. Assists with general kitchen and lodge cleaning.
  6. Attends kitchen staff meetings.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Current state approved first aid certification.
  2. Current state approved CPR certification.
  3. Current Washington State Food Handlers Card.
  4. Six months or more related experience or training preferred.
  5. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.

  6. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
