The Media Team works together to photograph and record the day-to-day life of Summer Camp and produce a weekly slideshow. Basic job functions include updating camp's media sites (Smugmug, Vimeo, Instagram, and Blogger), taking cabin photos at the beginning of each session, and assisting with the Digital Media Specialty Camp. Previous experience with video and photo equipment is required and a strong interest in photography and/or videography is encouraged. Camp Orkila's Outtrip Coordinators are the backbone of Orkila’s Teen Expedition Program and a great entry point into the Orkila Expedition Community. A Logistics Assistant plays a leading role in making sure that every participant who spends time in the wilderness – for a night or four weeks – has everything they need to stay safe and comfortable.   Outtrip Coordinators start and train with Orkila’s Teen Trip Leaders and will have the opportunity to take part in either the sea kayaking or sailing skills trainings. They’ll work alongside Teen Trip Leaders to support Orkila’s Expedition and LDI courses along with the overnight trips offered to every Orkila Traditional Camper. Logistics Assistants run the behind the scenes show, packing food, maintaining Orkila’s equipment and make sure that every trip that spends time away from Camp Orkila is successful. The Director of Philanthropy, Camp and Outdoor Leadership leads the development and execution of the YMCA of Greater Seattle Camp and Outdoor Leadership’s continued philanthropic growth through expanded donor cultivation and stewardship, alumni engagement, annual gifts, and grant opportunities. Execution of year-round fundraising and philanthropic efforts, aligning with the YMCA of Greater Seattle efforts as appropriate, including but not limited to the following elements: Annual Fund Drive, Major Gifts ($5,000+), foundation solicitation, current and new grant opportunities, ensure donor recognition and facilitate meaningful stewardship. Responsibilities include working with a portfolio of individuals to acquire, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts of $5,000 or higher. Responsible for working with volunteers on a comprehensive and aggressive campaign plan that will maximize capital, major giving and planned giving opportunities. Every day hundreds of young adults participate in fun and engaging YMCA summer day camp programs.The Lead Summer Day Camp Counselor serves as a professional role model for our participants by leading through example and guiding young adults through recreational activities that teach life skills, encourage healthy and safe behaviors and create a positive experience.  Recreational activities include but are not limited to, arts and crafts, sports, social recreation, songs, nature walks and other games and enrichment activities. Day Camp season runs June 20 – August 26 (start dates vary by location) with trainings for some positions beginning in early May/June. Shifts range from 6:45am - 6:15pm.
