Arlington Apartments are located in Tacoma, WA and owned by the Tacoma Housing Authority (THA).The building has 58 units of housing designed for young adults. This position will work within a team to provide case management services to residents at Arlington Apartments. Services include supporting each participant to achieve their goals towards maintenance of safe and stable housing, employment, education, navigating resources, building community, and developing life skills as they strive for self-sufficiency.    Candidates with direct experience working with young adults (18-24) who are experiencing homeless is preferred but not required. This position will actively engage in the tenant referral process, and ongoing case management of tenants. This position will build and collaborate with other programs within the Y and other external community organizations, along with cultivate and foster working relationships with THA on-site staff.    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days will be Sunday-Thursday (overnight shift) 11:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.  Hours may flex as program requirements need.   This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. As the Community Programs Supervisor of our Youth Development and Hunger Response programs you will lead and develop our Hunger Response volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and youth development staff. This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum are provided to the participants and playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of community centered programs that are provided to the community. Identifies resources and assists families in learning the skills to effectively advocate for themselves in order to meet priority needs. Collaborates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and outside professionals to meet the action plan goals to that address the family's priority needs. The Family Advocate may facilitate informal wrap around meetings or participate in formal wrap around meetings with the family, other professionals and natural supports. The Family Advocate provides immediate and scheduled crisis outreach services to families in King County including 24/7 on-call shifts.   This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS).
