YMCA Earth Service Corps is leadership through environmental service. The
mission of YESC is to empower young people to become effective, responsible, global citizens by
providing opportunities for service-learning, environmental education, and cross-cultural
awareness. Program Instructors serving with YMCA Earth Service Corps will play a crucial role in
delivering high quality positive youth development programming to teens in the Greater Seattle
Area. YESC is a multi-faceted program that combines school-based environmental clubs, service
learning projects, outdoor opportunities, and regional environmental education events into a
comprehensive model that minimizes barriers to participation and allows for engagement of diverse
populations across socioeconomic, race, ethnic, gender & sexual identity, and geographic spectra.
Position Description:
Each Program Instructor will mentor and develop youth leaders through the
implementation of youth-directed school-based clubs that provide opportunities for environmental
service and skill development which instill confidence, build character, and support youth in
reaching their fullest potential. Program Instructors will foster strong relationships, empower youth
to be effective leaders, and engage them in outdoor experiences and hands-on volunteerism that
increases environmental knowledge, instills stewardship behaviors, and addresses the
environmental issues facing the Puget Sound community.
Grade 14 Hiring Range: $24/hr. - $26.40/hr.

Every day campers participate in fun and engaging YMCA summer day camp programs. Counselors will co-lead a group of 10-15 youth in various activities throughout the camp, including group games, crafts, STEM projects, cooking projects and more. Spend your summer full of fun with kids all summer long!
We have camps that serve campers from preschool-early high school. From theme-based Discovery Camps, to environmental explorations at Outdoor Day Camp to sports, swimming, STEM and more-we have something for every camper but also for every counselor.

As the Program Supervisor of our Year Round Youth Development Programs you will lead and develop our before and after school during the school year and day camp staff in the summer. This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum are provided to the participants. You will oversee the planning and implementation of a safe and quality child care program providing day-to-day support and overall management of the program site. You will supervise and evaluate the staff and volunteers, including hiring and training, maintaining required staff/child ratios and conducting regular staff meetings. You will be an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, facility/school personnel, and the community.

Job Summary
Every day hundreds of children utilize our Kid Zone drop in child care centers within our membership facilities, engaging in activities and building new relationships with our staff and other participants. Provides day-to-day supervision of youth development and family programs, which includes, but is not limited to youth sports and wellness, recreation and enrichment, Kids Club/Kids Zone, family activities, and teen programs. This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and lessons plans are provided to participants. You will oversee a safe, high-quality program providing day-to-day support of the programs. You will supervise and evaluate the staff and volunteers, including hiring and training, maintaining required staff/child ratios, and conducting regular staff meetings. This role plays an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, facility/school personnel, and the community.
