SUMMARY
Under the direction of Facility Director, perform a variety of skilled grounds maintenance and facility maintenance duties. Maintenance Technicians demonstrate knowledge of aspects of landscape and facility maintenance and operations including areas of landscaping, asset and facility maintenance and repair. SUMMARY
Camp Orkila's Outtrip Coordinators are the backbone of Orkila’s Teen Expedition Program and a great entry point into the Orkila Expedition Community. A Outtrip Coordinator plays a leading role in making sure that every participant who spends time in the wilderness – for a night or four weeks – has everything they need to stay safe and comfortable.
Outtrip Coordinators start and train with Orkila’s Teen Trip Leaders and will have the opportunity to take part in either the sea kayaking or sailing skills trainings. They’ll work alongside Teen Trip Leaders to support Orkila’s Expedition and LDI courses along with the overnight trips offered to every Orkila Traditional Camper. Outtrip Coordinators run the behind the scenes show, packing food, maintaining Orkila’s equipment and make sure that every trip that spends time away from Camp Orkila is successful. Outtrip Coordinators are supervised by an Assistant Director and perform other duties as assigned.

Health Aides work closely with the Health Director/Camp Nurse to support the health and safety of our campers. Basic job functions include assisting in the management of the Health Center, maintains the health of campers and staff and properly packing medication for overnight trips. Our kitchen staff take part in trainings with other members of the program teams and will get training in their department and their specific kitchen position. This is a crucial role in providing delicious and healthy camp meals in a highly organized manner. All members of the kitchen team will be supervised by the Food Services Director and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY
Orkila specializes in two types of expedition experiences. The first are our Leadership Development Institute (LDI) courses. We offer two- and three-week LDI courses that combine wilderness travel with time spent at Orkila to take advantage of youth work and leadership experiences, time spent on a challenge course and service projects at Orkila and in the Orcas Island Community. Our pure expedition (kayaking) courses send teens out into the San Juan Islands for one, two and four weeks of adventure, peer to peer leadership and skill development. Trip leaders will often get the opportunity to lead both types of courses in a typical summer spent working at Camp Orkila.

SUMMARY
Assistant Program Directors provide leadership across all of camp’s summer programs. Assistant Director responsibilities include coaching and supervising staff, working with campers, managing the day-to-day operations of camp, and assisting in problem solving as unique and challenging situations arise. Previous experience working with large groups or managing others in a professional setting is required. Assistant Directors are supervised by Summer Program Directors and perform other duties as assigned. This is an Authorized Driver position, read more in the Position Requirements.
