The Arcadia Young Adult Emergency shelter is a low barrier temporary emergency shelter for those 18-24 years old, who are experiencing homelessness. Clients have a 30 day maximum stay, however, this can be extended on a case by case basis. The Arcadia Emergency Shelter is able to serve clients seven days a week, 365 days a year. Clients are referred from other internal programs, community members, other organizations and professionals, our street outreach team, and are often self-referred. The shelter is open daily from 10:00pm to 8:00am the following day.
The South King County Youth Shelter (SKCYS) is a 24/7 group home for youth ages 12-17, for up to 21 days, who are homeless or at imminent risk of homeless that have been self-referred, referred to by a provider, community member, street outreach team, or law enforcement. SKYS staff and case managers work with youth to increase stabilization, transition youth to safe and stable housing and work towards family reunification whenever possible.
