    The YMCA of Greater Seattle has an opening for an experienced Camp Recruiter.  This position will contribute to the success of the YMCA of Greater Seattle by recruiting diverse and qualified candidate pools for current and future organizational needs for our Camp programs: Overnight Camp, teen expeditions, Facilities & Retreats, Camp Colman and Camp Orkila. This include recruiting, hiring and onboarding local, national and international candidates! May offer occasional recruiting support to other programs as capacity allows.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Under direction from the HR Director for Talent Management, the responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Identify, attract, source and increase pool of local, national and international candidates for current and future camp hiring needs.
    • Full life cycle recruiting – posting jobs in ATS and other job boards, sourcing candidates in multiple channels, performing initial candidate screenings, coordinating interviews with hiring managers/candidates/stakeholders, reference checks, and communication through the close of the job.
    • Being the Onboarding point person for Camps who conducts the onboarding process for all new empoyees for our camp programs. It includes: monitor onboarding process and tasks, background check, drug test, I9, etc.
    • Use iCIMS ATS platform as main tool for managing jobs, recruiting and onboarding workflow, and interacting with active and passive candidates.
    • Research and manage the logistics of hiring events, career/job fair events and coordinates branch participation.
    • Build Community Partnerships. Develop an effective public relations strategy for leveraging those community partnerships to focus on diversity recruitment.
    • Work directly with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and key priorities; partner throughout the entire recruiting process (communicating updates, supporting salary negotiation, etc.).
    • Qualify candidates in relation to position requirements, as well as provide candidates with detailed information on our organization, compensation, position details and expectations, and mission, goals, and objectives.
    • Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic efforts around recruiting and talent management, resulting in a diverse and well qualified candidate pool that meets our business needs, now and for the future with primary focus on camp programs.

     

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience working in YMCA of Greater Seattle in Camp programs.
    • Deep knowledge about YMCA of Greater Seattle camp programs, hiring needs, different role/responsibilities, challenges and market trends.
    • 2+ years’ experience recruiting and hiring for resident camp jobs at YMCA of Greater Seattle.
    • Experience with high volume recruiting for camp positions (for summer camp).
    • Preferred well versed in passive search and creative candidate sourcing
    • Preferred experience utilizing Boolean search methodology
    • Preferred savvy in use of social media for recruiting
    • Experienced and comfortable with interacting with diverse populations.
    • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
    • Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • This job requires travelling to camps in Western Washington.

    Where you'll work:

    Our HR team works in the heart of Downtown Seattle, in a historic building that has housed the YMCA since the 1930s.  Not only does our building house our Association Office (corporate headquarters), but it's also home to some of our unique social service programs, our Resident Camps offices, AND a membership facility (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class at lunch, do some laps on the track before you go home, if you like!).
