CCORS staff work with youth and families to instill hope, identify strengths and access the resiliency within themselves. CCORS staff help to connect families to community resources and to learn new skills to prevent crisis and reduce behavioral and emotional discomfort. CCORS staff work together to provide community outreaches in homes, hospitals, schools and other places where youth find themselves in need of immediate support. Come join the CCORS team!
Family Advocates work within a team setting to provide culturally competent, family focused, evidence and strength-based advocacy and coaching to decrease crisis and increase in-home stabilization for children, youth and their families in the YMCA CCORS Program. Family Advocates identify resources and assist families in learning the skills to effectively advocate for themselves in order to meet priority needs. Collaborates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and outside professionals to meet the action plan goals to that address the family's priority needs. The Family Advocate may facilitate informal wrap around meetings or participate in formal wrap around meetings with the family, other professionals and natural supports. The Family Advocate provides immediate and scheduled crisis outreach services to families in King County.
