    Come join the dynamic and innovative clinical mental health team at the YMCA’s Children’s Crisis Outreach Response System (CCORS)! With CCORS, you will have a unique opportunity to provide therapeutic crisis services throughout King County with a team of highly skilled professionals.

    We are currently hiring Crisis Intervention Specialists. This is a full time, salaried positon. Crisis Intervention Specialists are on the front line of providing mental health first aid, by responding to diverse youth and families in emergent need. Crisis Intervention Specialists also maintain a small caseload in order to provide stabilization services to prevent youth and families from experiencing crisis in the future. Licensed, experienced supervision and training form the foundation of our team approach.

    Crisis Intervention Specialists work directly with youth and families to identify strengths, instill hope, and develop resiliency. Come join the CCORS team!

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    1. Prevent out-of-home placement and unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization by providing immediate, short-term, acute crisis intervention services
    2. Travel to meet families in their homes, schools, and other community locations
    3. Perform risk assessments, develop and implement comprehensive safety plans sensitive to a family’s cultural, social, and mental health needs
    4. Teach, model, and coach behavior management skills, parenting skills, de-escalation, brief counseling, and resource access
    5. Partner with community resources (schools, therapists, wraparound teams, law enforcement, etc.) to support families, and link youth and families to additional resources for long-term support

     

    Desired Candidates Will Possess the Following:

    1. Strong clinical skills of assessment and treatment
    2. Excellent organization, time-management, and self-direction skills
    3. Clear, effective communication, with the ability to translate between different kinds of services
    4. Flexible mindset, ready to respond to rapidly changing environments
    5. Strong self-awareness, particularly of racial/cultural bias, with ability to continue developing cultural competence
    6. Consistent desire and ability to learn and grow as a clinician, professional, and team member

     

    Qualifications

    1. Masters degree in social work, counseling or related field.
    2. One or more year post-graduate experience providing short-term mental health services to youth and families from a broad range of cultures and social needs.
    3. Training and experience in individual, family, and group treatment modalities.
    4. Ability to work in a team management approach.
    5. Strong organizational skills with an attention to details, timelines and follow-through. Registered counselor in Washington.
    6. Ability to meet with clients at home and in the community, and to transport clients in a safe and effective manner. (Proof of adequate vehicle insurance is required.)
    7. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work evenings and weekends.
