    Job Summary

    Every day hundreds of children stay before and after school in fun and engaging YMCA programs. Be part of an amazing team of staff who provide enrichment & recreation activities, teach teamwork and social skills, and support children as they grow and learn. You will help provide a safe place after school, that is an exciting, with fun filled activities that allow children to reach their fullest potential. Looking for applicants who can drive a mini bus (21+ in age). 

     

    If hired, you will receive a $200 signing bonus (less applicable payroll taxes) after 90 days of employment.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Plans and implements culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA.
    2. Supervises a group of children to ensure their health and safety and to provide for a positive experience for each child.
    3. May provide guidance to staff/volunteers overseeing the activities of groups of children.
    4. Professionally communicates day-to-day, confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians.
    5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
    6. Assists in maintaining developmentally appropriate site including appearance, décor and cleanliness of site.
    7. May prepare and serve snacks. Cleans snack area.
    8. Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
    9. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    You should be 18 yrs older and have:

    • 1-2 years’ experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny
    • Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
    • Experience planning and implementing group activities
    • Current Driver’s License with a minimum 3 years safe driving experience and a driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards
    • Maximum one minor violation
    • No speeding violation of more than 20mph over the limit
