Accelerator YMCA branch of the YMCA of Greater Seattle is the holistic solution for young people who have experienced trauma. Accelerator Y has everything young people need to thrive. Young people have access to housing, employment & educational support, behavioral health services and family services all in one place. More than 50% of the youth and family participants in Accelerator YMCA programs are of color.
Supports low-income youth and young adults who may have experience in foster care, homelessness, disconnection from school, juvenile justice and/or other systems in developing the skills to live independently. Provides specialized support to youth and young adults in education, job readiness/employment, housing, or other designated field. Develops strong collaborative community relationships and provides extensive information and referral services. Creates a welcoming and supportive environment at the YMCA.
Locates affordable housing opportunities for participants in the City of Seattle Rapid-Rehousing for Young Adults Program. Provides guidance to Accelerator staff for housing i.e. identifying properties, mediating conflict, obtaining housing, retaining housing and housing classes

The Housing Locator is available as a resource for landlord/tenant mediation, when necessary. Case Managers and RRHYA participants are also responsible for addressing any issues which may impact housing stability. All parties shall work together to prevent eviction, when possible.
Housing Identification Case Managers shall submit a Housing Locator Referral Form via email to the RRHYA Housing Locator. The Housing Locator will respond to the Case within 48 business hours of receiving the application.
