    Provides comprehensive mental health, family stabilization & reunification, crisis stabilization, and recovery services to youth, and their families, in foster, adoptive, kinship, birth homes, or placements in the community.

    1. Maintains a caseload of assigned therapeutic foster care, in-home family stabilization & reunification, and outpatient mental health clients. Assists and partners with clients to succeed in school, job, home, courts, and community settings.
    2. Provides individual, family and group therapy. Develops and implements individual treatment plans in partnership with the child and family that are sensitive to the child's cultural, social, mental health and recovery needs.
    3. Responds to emergencies in a timely and effective manner during regular and on-call hours.
    4. Completes all required mental health and DCYF paperwork in a timely fashion.
    5. Provides consultation and training for foster parents, and assists families in articulating personal goals for recovery and determining the objectives the family needs to take in order to reach their recovery goals. Participates on the treatment team for all clients; attends clinical weekly supervision meetings. Develops and presents trainings to staff and foster parents.
    6. Participates in long range planning and assists in program management and policy decisions.
    7. Provides clinical and administrative support to assigned caregivers, case managers, and behavior support staff.
    8. Provides clinical supervision and evaluation of foster parents.
    9. Is familiar with and utilizes the recovery model is assisting consumers. Documents the family's strengths, problem areas, recovery goals, objectives, interventions and progress using YMCA FSMH forms.
    10. Teaches families how to facilitate their own recovery, access support groups, utilize effective problem solving techniques, and identify natural and community supports that are conducive to recovery.


    1. Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field required; MHP status required.
    2. One or more years post-graduate experience in providing mental health services to youth and families preferred.
    3. Training and experience in individual, family, and group counseling.
    4. Knowledge of residential and milieu therapy.
    5. Ability to work in a team management approach.
    6. Registered counselor in Washington, and Mental Health Professional status.
    7. Ability to visit clients at home and school, and to transport clients in a safe and effective manner. (Proof of adequate vehicle insurance may be required.)
