    GENERAL FUNCTION

    Supervises and administers multiple programs in more than one location. Implements a high quality, culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate curriculum. 

     

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Supervises multiple programs in multiple locations. Plans, implements and evaluates programs.
    2. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff. Conducts staff meetings and organizes trainings.
    3. Oversees the purchases of food and supplies within budget guidelines. Oversees inventory.
    4. Maintains YMCA program standards, and ensures compliance with YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
    5. Maintains all required records according to YMCA standards, including, for example, attendance records, immunization records, registration information, accident reports, discipline records and fire evacuation records.
    6. May develop promotional materials. Maintains a positive relationship between programs and the community, including for example, families and schools.
    7. May assist with developing and monitoring department budgets.
    8. May send special billings and perform collections activities.
    9. Maintains monthly statistics.
    10. Recruits and supports members of program advisory and/or committees.
    11. Participates in community partnerships.

    Qualifications

    1. 21 years of age or older.
    2. Current state approved first-aid certification.*
    3. Current state approved community CPR certification.*
    4. HIV/AIDS training certification.*
    5. Thirty credits in related field such as recreation, physical education, education, music, art, psychology, social services or equivalent. Bachelors degree preferred.
    6. Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
    7. Management and supervisory skills as attested to by professional references.
    8. Three years or more of experience in working with children, families and communities in related programs.
    9. Demonstrated skill in recruiting and supervising volunteers and/or staff.
    10. Experience with budget management helpful.
    11. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

    *At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment).
