    Where you’ll work…

You’ll be based out of one of the 13 branches that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home, if you like!).  Specifically the Seattle Y offers summer camp programs throughout the greater Seattle area.  The programs are located in community parks, schools and other community buildings.  Programs use classrooms, multipurpose rooms, gyms, outdoor spaces and take frequent field trips.

The Seattle Y offers a competitive pay range and part time or full time benefit packages, as eligible.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll be doing…

As a Summer Sports Camp Director you will develop and implement the operations of weekly camps located at 3 YMCA branches. The sports offered are basketball, flag football, baseball, soccer, track & field and multi-sport. The position is a summer seasonal role operating from June through August and requires someone willing to travel and support programs in Auburn, Sea-Tac, and West Seattle.  You will develop and implement lessons plans, activities and provide supervision and support to Y Coach Unit Leads and counselors. You’ll work collaboratively with local branch staff to facilitate logistics for daily access to sport-appropriate space and other branch amenities.  You will be responsible for communication with enrolled families and local Y branch staff. Your role will be to ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed and that the program is a fun and engaging camp for kids. You do not need specific sports expertise but a general comfort in playing sports is preferred!

    Who are you?

If you're the right candidate for the job, you are excited to spend your summer helping to develop and play alongside youth.  You are best in class when it comes to creating a fun, activity-packed environment for campers and staff alike. You have an eye for quality programming and can build a sense of belonging with the groups you work with.

    • Strong computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office products.
    • Reliable transportation to be able to drive to the branches located throughout King County.
