Where you’ll work…
You’ll be based out of one off the 13 branches that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home, if you like!). Specifically the Seattle Y offers Programs throughout the greater Seattle area. The programs are located in Seattle Schools using classrooms, multipurpose rooms, gyms, outdoor spaces and take several field trips throughout the summer.

The Community Learning Center (CLC) at West Seattle Elementary School is seeking passionate, qualified, and committed staff for our after school program this fall. CLC provides struggling 2nd-5th grade students with homework assistance and opportunities for extracurricular enrichment activities Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30PM. West Seattle Elementary School is located in the High Point neighborhood of West Seattle; we are a vibrant Title 1 school that takes pride in moving children further in their education. The program observes all school holidays and breaks, and is seeking a commitment for the entire school year.
West Seattle Elementary is incredibly diverse, and we are seeking staff that represents our school's diversity. A background in elementary education and 2 years working in the field are required. Strong tutoring skills in literacy and math are highly regarded, as is a passion for extracurricular learning -- all enrichment activities are created and implemented by the instructor.
Seeking those who have experience teaching in the following areas: gardening/earth sciences, visual arts, sports/coaching (basketball, football, track), hip hop, choir/singing, science, cooking, and service learning.
