Supervises youth basketball games at assigned site(s). Be present at Saturday basketball games to supervise and assist referees, respond to spectator questions and needs, and ensure overall safety during each game. Leagues at Dale Turner are designed to be fun and positive overall for kids to enjoy their participation.


  1. Supervises activities at site(s) and surrounding areas to ensure safety and welfare of users.
  2. Reports and monitors all mechanical and equipment problems.
  3. Sets up equipment in gym, and returns equipment to storage. Ensures cleanliness of facility after game days.
  4. Enforces all rules, regulations and policies. Reports incidents and accidents.
  5. Assists other staff. Answers inquiries from participants, and provides information.
  6. Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
  7. Step in to referee games if needed.
  8. Maintain contact with league supervisor to ensure proper communication.


  1. Current state approved first aid certification*.
  2. Current state approved CPR certification*.
  3. Age eighteen years or more.
  4. One year or more of related experience preferred.
  5. Ability to move, set up and store equipment.
  6. Ability to tactfully enforce all rules and regulations.
  7. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  8. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Note: YMCA Minimum Wage outside the city of Seattle:

  • Under 21 years = $9.47/hour
