Job Summary
As a member of the Financial Development Team, the Director of Philanthropy - Community Giving will be responsible for creating the philanthropic strategy and objectives for community giving and direct the implementation in assigned Branches, Districts, Centers of Excellence (CoEs) or Departments. Responsibilities will include working with a portfolio of individuals based on assignment to acquire, cultivate, solicit, and steward community level gifts up to $10,000. Responsible for a comprehensive and aggressive social media and in-person campaign plan structure that will maximize annual giving as well as capital opportunities. This Director will lead the strategy to assist volunteer leadership, staff leaders and donors to develop a culture of philanthropy as a foundation of annual giving and springboard for major and planned giving programs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends as needed.
Flexible Work, also called remote work or telecommuting, is a flexible work location arrangement that permits YGS employees to work at home, at a non-office location, at a satellite office, a YGS facility or any of the above. In most cases, flexible work arrangements outline the workplace conditions of YGS employees who are approved to periodically work from their homes or another convenient location in the YGS area.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS
This position has primary impact on the success of the capital development and planned-giving programs of the association. Volunteers will feel well supported and recognized, and donors will be recognized and cultivated resulting in increased giving and retention in support of the YMCA and its mission.
