Job Summary

Officiate a variety of sports programs for adults. Create a safe, enjoyable, positive and inclusive environment that welcomes people of all skill and activity levels. Provide a quality experience to participants.

1. Officiates games in accordance with YMCA rules and guidelines.
2. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
3. Develops positive relationships with participants
4. Sets up and takes down equipment. Reports any equipment needs.
5. Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Code of Conduct for Applicants

1. 18 years of age or older to officiate adult sports.
2. Knowledge of the sport.
3. Develops positive relationships with participants.
4. Sets up and takes down equipment. Reports any equipment needs.
5. Experience in officiating preferred.
6. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
7. Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
8. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
9. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
10. Current state approved first aid certification preferred.*
11. Current state approved CPR certification preferred.*

* At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment)

Preferred Experience:

1. Prefer knowledge of, and pervious experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
