Tell me about this job!

Camp Orkila's Camp Store Admin has their hands in many parts of the daily operation of Camp. The Camp Store Admin work alongside camp leadership to maintain and staff the Camp Store, providing customer service support and general office administration. Our seasonal support staff team plays a crucial role in providing an excellent guest and staff experience in a highly organized manner. This role is supervised by the Conferences and Retreats Director and performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll be doing

1. Ensures daily cleaning, restocking and disinfecting of Camp Store
2. Ensures the highest level of customer service while operating the Camp Store.
3. Assists with office tasks and ensures timely mail delivery.
4. Monitors stock of janitorial, laundry, or store supply inventory and alerts supervisor of purchasing needs.
5. Performs various office duties, including using a personal computer to produce documents.
6. Maintains assigned files. Sets up files as assigned.
7. Inputs data to computer system as instructed.
8. Assists members, callers, and others with questions about YMCA programs
9. May prepare mail, photocopy, answer the telephone, and/or perform various record-keeping related duties.
10. Attends staff meetings and trainings.
11. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary. situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
12. Follows procedures as outlined in the event of an incident.
13. Other duties as assigned.


What we're looking for in an applicant

• 18 years of age or older
• Current state approved first aid certification and CPR certifications*
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Six months or more related experience or training
• Ability to understand and communicate basic directions verbally in English
• Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.


Preferred Education/Experience

• Two years of college or equivalent. Applicable education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in this position will be considered
• Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English.
